Tips for Navigating the FFRCA Credits Platform To File For The FFCRA

Ready to initiate your FFCRA filing?

So are we! FFCRA Credits stands as a comprehensive platform crafted exclusively for self-employed individuals, offering a streamlined process to secure the tax credits you're entitled to.

Here's an overview of how the platform operates, along with some tips on expediting your FFCRA refund.

Part 1 - The Things You’ll Need

FFRCA Credits takes care of numerous tasks on your behalf, such as retrieving your tax records directly from the IRS. However, we still require a few pieces of information from you:

The Dates You Want To Apply For

The FFCRA permits up to 20 days of paid sick leave and a maximum of 110 days of paid leave for instances where you needed to attend to a child or a loved one. Regarding childcare-related dates, the IRS has specific requirements:

- You can assert up to 50 days between April 1, 2020 - March 31, 2021.

- You can assert up to 60 days between April 1, 2021 - September 30, 2021.

You have the flexibility to claim specific dates (e.g., "3/31/2021") or time spans (e.g., "4/1/2021 - 4/6/2021"), but using the same date twice is not permissible.

If you can't recall the dates you took off, here are a few suggestions on where to find them:

1. Check your calendar: Review any appointments related to COVID with your doctor.

2. Check emails: Daycares often send updates on closures to parents or guardians.

3. Check social media: Examine your personal or professional pages for posts about dealing with COVID-related issues.

4. Check government websites and social: Look for records of past posts or press releases detailing lockdown procedures and dates.

5. Check payment processors: If payment methods you commonly use (Venmo, Paypal, Stripe, etc.) show a gap in your regular routine, it might indicate a temporary closure.

Your ID + Your Phone

After confirming your dates, we need to ensure that it's genuinely you applying for the FFCRA. To accomplish this, we'll require two items:

  1. A live selfie with your phone: Capture this through the Portal using specific angles our software requires. We cannot use old photos; it must be a current selfie.

  2. Your government-issued ID: Accepted IDs include driver's licenses, state IDs, and passports, provided they are current. Regrettably, we cannot accept expired IDs.

  3. Your Social Security number: This is a mandatory requirement from the IRS. Rest assured, your data is secure with us! We employ the highest encryption standards to safeguard your identity and information.

Your Current Mailing Address

We'll extract this from your ID, but it's crucial to ensure its accuracy, as the IRS will use it for your refund. If your ID doesn't display the correct address, you can manually rectify this in FFCRA Credits.

Your Tax Records

No need to worry if you don't have it on hand; we'll directly retrieve this data from the IRS. However, it's wise to cross-check the information for accuracy.

Part 2 - The Process in FFCRA Credits

Eligibility and Estimate: Initially, we'll ascertain your eligibility and provide an estimated refund. Note that this is only an approximation; the exact amount will be determined in the subsequent steps.

  1. Account Setup: If eligible, it's time to establish your unique account, housing all your data for a flexible application process.

  2. FFCRA Application: Dive into the details by entering dates and retrieving past Schedule SE forms. Automatic calculations will be performed to determine your refund amount.

TIP: Save your progress and return later!

  3. ID and Selfie Verification: Ensuring your identity and confirming accurate details like your address.

  4. Payment Details: Choose how to pay your fees—debit card, credit card, or ACH transfer. Some may have the option for automatic fee deduction from the refund, based on eligibility.

  5. Signature Process: Sign crucial documents such as IRS Form 8821, IRS Form 1040x, IRS Form 8879, FFCRA Attestation, and Our Agreement. These cover amendments, electronic submission, COVID-related details, and fee structure.

TIP: Access and download these documents anytime through the portal.

  6. Submission: Finalize and submit your application to the IRS. FFCRA Credits will automatically track the status and provide updates as it progresses.
